About Our Pastor
Dr. James E. Wright Jr.
Born the only child to Rev. James E. Wright Sr. and Sis. Ella K. Wright, Bishop James E. Wright Jr. is a living testimony to God’s divine plan. Raised in a strict Christian home, he has experienced God's blessings from an early age. Naturally gifted in leadership and music, he used these talents to glorify God—founding the multi-talented gospel group Times Three, which ministered across South Florida and the U.S. He later became CEO of Truth Music Corporation.
For thirteen years, Bishop Wright served faithfully as Minister of Music at Missionary Evangelistic Center under Apostle Johnnie L. Kemp, who later ordained him as Associate Pastor of Music. Alongside ministry, Bishop Wright served the City of Miami as a police officer, working in Patrol, Robbery, and the Honor Guard. His service instilled a deep passion for outreach and community engagement.
Following ten years in law enforcement, Bishop Wright retired to pursue business ventures and obey God’s call. Stepping out in faith, he founded Truth Worship Center Ministries, Inc., later transitioning into The Point 317, a multicultural, diverse congregation, all built on prayer and outreach.
Bishop Wright was mentored, ordained, and covered by Bishop Henry Fernandez of The Faith Center International, receiving certification from the University of Ft. Lauderdale in 1999. He was later ordained to the sacred office of Bishop by Bishop Duane Swilley and recognized by the ICCC (International Communion of Charismatic Churches), previously led by the late Bishop Earl Paulk. He holds honorary Doctorates in Divinity (Saint Thomas Christian College) and Humane Letters (City College of Fort Lauderdale, FL).
He currently serves under the spiritual covering of Bishop Keith Young of Vision for Souls Ministry in Mableton, GA, and is the Presiding Prelate of the City Church Fellowship, overseeing churches from Florida to Jamaica.
On March 10, 2024, Bishop Wright married his beloved, Bishop Marlyn S. Wright of Fayetteville, GA—Senior Pastor of Life Line Family Worship Center. Together, they are building Life At The Point, a non-denominational organization focused on developing leaders in the church, home, and marketplace.
Bishop Wright is a proud father of James III, Rashad, Shawanda, Sean, and Semaj Diamond Wright—his prophecy in the flesh.
